An intimate sea view wedding with elegant details

Kelly and John had set their hearts on a wedding near their favourite spot in Mallorca. They love the relaxed atmosphere of the island's eastern coastline and wanted to bring together family and friends for an intimate ceremony with a special role for 18-month old Tilly-Rose.

We introduced them to one of our favourite sea-view venues, just steps from a secluded beach with flexible spaces, a lush green lawn for the ceremony and dinner and a great indoor party area. This place combines stunning views with delicious food and has a special atmosphere of its own.

Kelly had decided that she wanted a horse-drawn carriage for her arrival and after some nifty negotiations with the local horse company, her dream came true. She and Tilly-Rose settled back into their decorated white carriage as their horse and his driver trotted along the road from their hotel.

Meanwhile, we had transformed the venue with huge white vintage lanterns, strands of fairy lights, white pillars and urns with large floral arrangements, gold Napoleon chairs with chiffon strands for the ceremony and dinner tables, and a wedding pergola dressed with white curtains and blush and cream floral arrangements. White Chesterfield sofas and carved white and gold occasional tables created a chillout area for the party.   The ceremony took place with the gentle rush of waves on the beach just a few steps away and the couple included a hand-fasting ceremony.

Then cava and canapes were served, including mini-toasts of duck breast with marmalade, brochette of courgette with smoked cheese and endive with cheese and salmon while the couple had some time together with photographs on the beach.

The dinner tables had been decorated with gold candelbras, gold glass goblets and gold votive candles. After a heartfelt speech of thanks from the groom, the wedding buffet was began, including entrecote steak, chicken fillets, fillet of pork, calamari and sea-bass, with sauteed potatoes, tomato salad and sauces followed by chocolate mousse, pannacotta with strawberries and fresh fruit.

As evening fell, the fairy lights twinkled against a perfect sunset. After the buffet, the couple cut the semi-naked cake with skimmed icing and pink drip effect, decorated with fresh flowers. Then the party began with two hours of live saxophone alongside the party DJ to ensure that things got off to a lively start.
